Platania’s Paradise is a beautiful maisonette built on the hill that overlooks Chania bay, is located in the area of Platanias in a quiet environment with an amazing, unlimited & breathtaking sea view. The sandy beach and fisherman port are around 10 min away on foot. Chania city center & the Old Harbor are 20 min away while Chania Airport and Souda Port are 40 min away by car. The access to the National Road is quick and easy to visit our beautiful, famous beaches and our tourist attractions.

This amazing sea view maisonette situated at Ano Platanias is around 10 minutes on foot to the beach of Platanias. On the ground floor there is an open plan fully equipped kitchen, dining and living area, a comfortable couch that becomes a double sofa bed, a bedroom with a double bed and a bathroom with shower. At the upper floor there is one bedroom with a double bed and a bathroom with shower. Both bedrooms have an air-conditioning system and a wardrobe. From its spacious veranda and its balcony you will let yourself go and relax enjoying your meals or your drink while gazing the stunning blue color of the northwest sea and the romantic sunset. It provides free linen, towels, Wi-Fi free Internet, a TV, air conditioning units, a laundry machine, a dishwasher machine, an iron/ironing board, a hair dryer, a refrigerator, a kitchen oven, an electric kettle, a sandwich maker, a juicer, a frappe blender and a filter coffee machine.

Our apartment is built on the Acropolis hill at Ano Platanias which is one of the most popular on the northwest resort of Chania. There, you will find all kind of shops such as mini markets, restaurants, taverns, coffee shops, clubs, souvenir shops, fashion shops, a bank, a pharmacy, a fish spa and more. As it concerns the history of Platanias, it has its roots somewhere in the Late Minoan period, as we can see from archaeological finds from excavations in the nearby villages of Platanias Municipality. Cult objects and grave goods have been discovered in Modi and Vrysses, as well as the remains of rural villas and tholos tombs which bear witness to the life and development of the local area from the 13th to the 4th century BC. The Byzantine period found Platanias, along with the rest of Crete, under Arab occupation. From this time on, the coasts were dangerous due to pirate raids, so the population preferred to live far from the sea, up high on vantage points from which they could watch for enemy ships. This is the main reason why the old village of Platanias (Ano Platanias) was built on the Acropolis hill. The Venetian period which succeeded the first fall of Constantinople in 1252 has left incredible traces of its influence on the area. It was a village set out in a horseshoe shape on the hill, where Ano Platanias is today. The Venetians were followed by the Turks, who conquered Crete in 1645. Buildings from the last years of the Turkish period are still preserved in the old village of Ano Platanias, along with a Turkish lookout post carved into the rock.
